Who We Are

Hi! We're Jen and John Yates, and we love - LOVE - bringing order out of your chaos. Messes make us happy. Helping others makes us even happier. Together we're trying to be one little spark in our community when times seem dark.

We've been married for over 25 years, and owned and operated our own painting and faux finishing company for 12 of those years here in central Florida. Over the years we've completely renovated multiple houses of our own, plus done countless repairs and renovations for others. We have extensive experience in all kinds of home repair, design, and construction, and we're passionate about using our skills to help folks in need. Whether it's replacing a toilet, painting a room, organizing a pantry, or furnishing a first apartment, our favorite thing is turning your "before" into a beautiful "after."

John is the engineer: he loves a construction challenge, from robots to custom furniture. If you can dream it, odds are he can build it. Jen is the imagineer: she loves thinking outside the box and coming up with things for John to build! Together we bring both the creative and the practical to every job, and promise to leave every home a little better than we found it.

We both love Jesus and try to follow his example of being a safe space for the outcast and the hurting, especially our LGBTQ+ and immigrant neighbors. We are committed to helping the most vulnerable among us, and in addition to providing all of our services for free whenever possible, we also volunteer weekly with The Sharing Center and on an as-needed basis with Seniors Intervention Group

In our spare time we are proud geeks of many fandoms, and some of you may even remember us from Epbot, a geek girl website Jen ran for over a decade. Our hobbies include making award-winning cosplays, hosting weekly craft nights, throwing elaborately themed parties, portrait photography, and playing video games. We're known in our neighborhood as being THAT house on Halloween, as our decorations get a little bigger and wilder every year. (The last few years have been Haunted Mansion themed, complete with a life-sized Doom Buggy and skeleton horse.)

To sum up, we're the judgement-free, eager-to-help, kinda kooky friends you never knew you had. If you're at the end of your hope and need help in your home, then please, don't hesitate to reach out.
